Hit a big pothole and now my steering wheel is crooked, can this be serious? - hadrianwells - 10-15-2026

Two days ago I drove through a very deep pothole on the road near my house. I did not see it because it was dark, and the hit was loud. Since then my steering wheel does not sit straight anymore. When the car goes straight, the logo on the wheel is tilted a little to the left. I also feel a small shake in my hands when I drive over 80. My car is a 2016 Infiniti QX60 and it has around 74,000 km. At first I thought maybe I was just imagining it, but my wife sat in the front seat yesterday and said the same thing. She noticed the car feels different when I turn too. A friend told me it only needs an alignment and it costs very little. Another friend said a pothole can bend something under the car and that I should not wait. Now I really do not know which one to believe. I tried to read about it last night and found a page on that explained how the steering parts connect to the wheels. I learned that small parts like tie rods can get damaged by a hard hit, and that alignment alone will not help if something is already bent. So I started searching for a Top Infiniti steering repair shop in Musaffah Shabiya, because I want someone to look under the car and tell me the truth before I spend money. My questions are simple. Can one pothole really damage the steering, or is it usually only the alignment? Is there a way to check at home, like looking at the tyres for uneven wear? How long can I drive like this before it becomes dangerous? I use the car every day for the school run, so I need to be careful. And if it is only alignment, how long does it take, and do they do it while you wait? Thanks to anyone who can help. I just want to understand what happened to my car.
